Lloyd’s botanical garden displays a fine collection of Himalayan fauna. Take a trip on the racecourse at lebong, the smallest and highest racecourse in the world. The garden, located below the bus stand, is worth a watch for its wonderful collection of Himalayan plants, flowers and orchids.
HMI runs courses on mountaineering. The museum is the oldest mountaineering institute in the country which tells the history of the local hero tensing Norgay Sherpa and sir Edmund Hillary and how they conquered the highest peak of the world “mount Everest”.
Chowrasta situated on the upper ridge of the town truly reflects the charm of this hill station. A walk around the mall road provides you a panoramic view of Kanchenjunga. The roads heading to chowrasta are filled with studios, garment shops, cafes and restaurants.
Standing at a height of 2590m, tiger hill is 11 km from the main town. It is here only one can actually get to see the magnificent sight of Kanchenjunga, Mount Everest and many other Himalayan peaks. The place offers you a spectacular sight of sunrise.
